The First DMS Candidates on the New Foundation Qualification Receive Certification from CIPD
Last month, the first DMS Ireland candidates received certification for their CIPD Qualification, just one year after this Northern Ireland-based centre gained approval on the new qualifications introduced in 2021.
Glenn Hunter, HR Administrator at Triangle Housing Association was one of DMS Ireland’s first to complete the Foundation Certificate in People Practice Qualification recently, leading to the new CIPD Foundation Membership.
Glenn commenced his HR career within the voluntary sector and was given the opportunity to gain a CIPD qualification for his personal and professional development. Glenn commented:
“The content and delivery of the Level 3 CIPD Foundation course was excellent. Gillian was an excellent facilitator and made the whole course enjoyable and interesting. I am able to implement what I have learned on the course during my working day in my current role, but it also sets me up for further career progression and development. I look forward to working with all the team at DMS Ireland in 2022 and beyond as I progress to the Level 5 and Level 7 CIPD courses.”
The Foundation Certificate in People Practice is suitable for those starting out in their HR/L&D career or with HR/L&D administrative/supporting duties.
Gillian Robson, Programme Director at DMS Ireland explains some further insight into the Foundation qualification: “the qualification is an excellent entry point qualification for those either currently in or considering a career in People Practice. The Foundation qualification covers elements from both human resource practice and L&D with a strong focus on business acumen and helps develop the essential skills needed for those in a supporting HR/L&D role.”
The qualification is delivered over 4 modules:
- Business, culture and change in context
- Principles of analytics
- Core behaviours for people professionals
- Essentials of people practice.
Gillian continued: “candidates will complete practical activities as part of their assessments including an analytics activity, recruitment and interviewing, completing their own CPD portfolio.”
Completion of the qualification leads to Foundation Membership of CIPD. “You’re using your knowledge to perform an effective tactical role that supports others in your organisation including your manager, colleagues and customers.” (CIPD).
DMS Ireland is based in Northern Ireland but is working with candidates remotely from all over the UK and Ireland. Lynn Carson, Managing Director of CIPD added: “whilst most candidates are currently working remotely with us, their experience is important to us and we aim to work with individuals to create a unique, flexible and quality service. Candidates are balancing work and home life along with study for their CIPD Qualification and DMS Ireland as a centre aims to provide each individual with a positive experience to support their development.”
