Associate Diploma Success at DMS Ireland for Sensata’s, Ryan Brown

Ryan Brown, HR Business Partner at Sensata Technologies, Antrim, was delighted to be one of DMS Ireland’s first candidates to receive certification for the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management qualification, providing Ryan with Associate Membership of CIPD last month.

Delighted to receive his professional qualification certificate, Ryan commented:  “I would highly recommend DMS Ireland as a CIPD Learning Centre. The team are lovely and will go out of their way to help you with anything, nothing is too much trouble for them. The facilitation sessions were very interesting and it was great to hear other candidate's views and opinions on different topics, where we had some great discussions which were useful for completing assignments.  Thank you DMS and I'll be coming to you to do my Level 7!”

Gillian Robson, Programme Director at DMS Ireland explains some further insight into the Associate Diploma qualification options available: “The Associate Diploma in People Management or Organisational Learning & Development is for those working in an operational HR/L&D role who are in a position to drive change within their organisation and make a difference in the management and development of people. The CIPD Associate Diploma is recognised by employers as a global standard of excellence. The qualification will also give you CIPD membership, connecting you to a deeply informed and influential network of people professionals worldwide!”

The Associate Diploma qualification is delivered over 7 units:

  • 3 Core Units: Assessed via CIPD-set assignments
  • 3 Specialist Units: Assessed via Personal Report and Evidence
  • 1 Optional Special Unit: Assessed via Personal Report and Evidence

Gillian continued: “candidates can select their own choice of Optional Specialist Unit based on an area of their specialism or an area they are developing around.  For the Associate Diploma in People Management, Well-being at Work is currently the most popular choice and others include:  Specialist Employment Law, Advances in Digital Learning and Development, Learning & Development Essentials, People Management in an International Context, Diversity & Inclusion and Leadership & Management Development.”

Completion of the qualification leads to Associate Membership of CIPD. “Working at Associate Member grade means you’re delivering an operational impact with increasing complexity.  You’re using your knowledge to address and react to business needs and you actively influence the day-to-day approach in your organisation.” (Source:  CIPD website, https://www.cipd.co.uk/membership/grades/associate).

As well as Ryan, candidates from across a range of departments within the Irish Civil Service also received their qualification certification for the Associate Diploma in People Management Qualification - which was the first 'in-house' group on the new qualification.

The Induction for the next group commencing on the CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management / or Organisational Learning & Development, will take place on:  Wednesday 27th April 2022, 9:30am-11:30am online via MS Teams
